In the first part of our ongoing look at the best designs from each lattice, we start with SolenoidsOnly. This, the first lattice of the 4.3 branch of clients started by simulating only a decay channel, a step back from the v4.2x clients. And started in March 2003.
The best design was 16.047507% by PIT-V of Team Seti Germany
The lattice simulated a solenoid channel only, comprising up to 34 solenoids. The design as tested comprised 117 parameters, meaning that there were 10351 permutations, and 3.75Million of these were tested totaling some 520,000,000 Million particle timesteps (Mpts)
This is the 'best' design as recreated in v4.45. Some modification to the lattice was needed to add a backend, as earlier clients had this hard-coded.
