The best design was 1.834290% from Fozzie of TeamFree DC.
PhaseRotC was new, and untested, it was a new area of research using much higher energy particles than all previous designs. Thus there was some question about how new directions. Typically, larger solenoids have increased the yield, but how does the increase in the first, with a corresponding change in the field-strength alter things? In theory it could refocus particles that would otherwise escape at the beginning, and turn them into useful particles, upping the yield. The only major over PhaseRotC is the initial solenoid (S1). It is identical otherwise.
The search space is in the 10840 range with 280 parameters. The lattice showed a single-stage growth pattern, with a small late bump due to localised optimisations.
This is the 'best' design as recreated in v4.45. Some modification to the lattice was needed to add a backend, as earlier clients had this hard-coded. It is also sped up. The original simulation length as recorded was 9 minutes 02seconds.
